Leather Designer - We are expanding our Leather Goods Division and are searching for a leather designer with substantial experience designing small leather goods, handbags and belts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record with sample making by hand, sketching technicals and renderings by hand, have a clear understanding of leather and hardware, have a strong fashion sense and ability to interpret trend and translate an ethnic/organic Peyote Bird feel, as well as a strong capacity communicating effectively with internal staff, clients, vendors and factories throughout the entire product lifecycle. This individual will work closely with our VP of Design, President, Leather Goods Director and the owner of the company to develop successful merchandise. This candidate will also have an artistically developed, entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for new, inspired, artistic products that exemplify the heart of Peyote Bird Designs.
Required:
College degree in fashion/art related industry;
5-years accessories/leather design experience with increasing management responsibility;
Strong sketching skills - technicals, renderings;
Strong computer skills - Adobe, MS Office;
Clear understanding of leather and mixed metals hardware; Ability to clearly communicate with vendors and factories through production process and assist in resolving production issues quickly and effectively; Ability to provide clear, concise specing details to send with factory development packages; Ability to create samples by-hand, including embellishments: stitching, beading, studs, lacing, stamping, embossing, etc.; Excellent communication and presentation skills of design boards (product collections, ideas, sketches, samples, color stories, etc.) internally and externally;
Mixed metals hardware design and execution oversight; Excellent attention-to-detail;
Clear understanding of trend market and ability to interpret for "brand-appropriate" product;
Ability to take on a leadership role in the Leather Division: ensuring deadlines are met, troubleshooting issues, prioritizing tasks and making certain the team completes projects on deadline; Ability to maintain design integrity through entire product lifecycle; An entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys working collaboratively with a team and enthusiastically develops and mentors junior members

Senior Jewelry Designer - Minimum 5-years experience designing bridge or costume jewelry for mainstream retailers; Thorough understanding of the design process, materials and manufacturing techniques; Ability to accurately identify and interpret trends into brand appropriate product that fits within targeted retail pricing; Ability to conceptualize new product, produce mechanical drawings and execute samples; Ability to work in fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects with strong adherence to design calendar and deadlines; Ability to work closely with senior management, vendors, factories and sales team on product design and development; Oversee wax, model, mold-making and casting processes; Highly organized, detail-oriented, strong computer (Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office) and communication skills; Experience with 3-dimensional (CAD/AutoCAD) jewelry design programs a plus; Sourcing and Asia travel experience required.

Assistant Jewelry Designer - Minimum 2-years of design education and experience; Ability to assist in designing new product working under direction of designers and customer; Execute design requests with appropriate urgency to design calendar and customer priority levels; Document and organize trend library, all sample materials and orders; Prepare and maintain design rooms and supplies inventory; Assist in trend and product presentations to internal team and customers; Highly organized, detail-oriented, strong computer (Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office) and communication skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with changing priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.

Launch Assistant - Assists with seamless project management launch programming tasking cross functionally at all levels of the organization and manages customer expectations to achieve new product quality, margin and service objectives.
Responsibilities:
Gathering and documenting material ranges as used by design and for communication with the customer and for communication to the broader launch team; Labeling materials used by style number to ensure proper material is used in revisions and for production reference;Detailed review and documentation of items prior to shipping to the customer. This includes photos, detailed measurements of each component and notes; Creation of customer product information sheets; Factory packages; Document QC information for good record keeping and internal communication; Preparing and making shipments; Overall sleeve management and follow up with all departments on work in progress. Design, costing, QC etc.; Assist in material management in the design department; In charge of gem stone testing for correct material identification; Scope and project manage other projects, short and long term, as assigned.

Second Samples Coordinator - Responsible for production of 2nd samples; Pull all available materials; Forward to Design Buyer all needed items; Complete kits, move to production floor in a timely manner; Work with stringers on construction issues; Work with Design on necessary substitutions; Follow through completion ensuring due date is met; Update applicable spreadsheets/database; Responsible for correctly identifying all materials used; Responsible for working with the Design Materials team, Design team, Production team, and Account Manager to ensure completion dates are met; Responsible for forwarding completed samples to Account Manager, Purchasing Dept, Project Management
Required Skills: Attention-to-detail; Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and deal with changing priorities in a deadline-oriented environment; Self leadership; Attention to follow-through; Microsoft Office Excel
Desired Skills: Previous jewelry industry experience; Knowledge of gems and other materials used in jewelry production; Knowledge of jewelry construction
