Quick Bio

Dwight Loop is an electronic music composer and performer, video and audio producer, radio programmer, musicologist and Music Director/Project Curator of Synapse Electronic Arts Series at Cobalt Sun in Sausalito, California with light artist Lynn Augstein.

Dwight's electronic music spans a wide range of sensibilities from the experimental to ambient electronic. Loop has composed and performed solo electronic music concerts for the New Music America Festival (1995), Santa Fe's Center for Contemporary Arts, New Music New Mexico "Concentration" music series (1984-86), the Collego of Santa Fe's Contemporary Music Series (1995-96), the Brooklyn Arts Festival (1997), as well as performances at The Kitchen, The Knitting Factory, Roseland Ballroom, The Palladium (NYC) and at Grace Cathedral, SomArts, Cell Space, Berkeley Art Center (Bay Area).

Loop also was the creator of "Circuits I-IV" a series of interactive electronic music ensemble performances in New Mexico from 1981-1985 whose performances took place at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Keller Hall-University of New Mexico and founded New Music New Mexico, Inc.

Currently, in the Bay Area he is collaborating on the trance-ambient Dream Jungle project with vocalist Taressa Bell, new light-sound installations with Lynn Augstein (Cobalt Sun).

Loop is well known for his solo experimental ambient electronic music concerts. He has presented his "Hunab Ku" Trilogy throughout New Mexico, California and New York from Santa Fe to Manhattan to Hollywood as well as a new 2008 composition "Kuxan Suum", performed at the 2012 Conference in San Francisco.
