1993–Present :: Inn of the Five Graces
The Inn of the Five Graces was originally known as Seret's 1001 Nights. Opened in 1996 by Ira and Sylvia Seret, the 22-suite inn became a showcase for the Serets' decorating style. Set in the historic neighborhood of downtown Santa Fe, the property combines traditional old Santa Fe with intriguing architectural elements of Asia and the highest quality of hotel service. In 2002, Architectural Digest described the Inn as "an unexpectedly exotic space in Santa Fe that evokes the feeling of a Himalayan mountain village ... an extraordinary environment." Since, the Inn has become the place to stay in Santa Fe.
The Garrett Hotel Group acquired a long-term lease of the Inn in 2002, taking over business operations and offering the finest service in hotel hospitality in the world. The Serets continue to oversee the interior design at the Inn. Sylvia personally creates all of the tile mosaics in the bathrooms and all furnishings are supplied or custom created by Seret and Sons. In 2002, the Inn was renamed "The Inn of the Five Graces", relating back to the Five Graces of Tibetan culture celebrating the human senses, all of which are focused on in this hotel.
