Psychology of the Future: Lessons from Modern Consciousness Research

In the last four decades, various avenues of modern consciousness research have revealed a rich array of extraordinary experiences and observations that have undermined some of the most basic assumptions of modern psychiatry, psychology, and psychotherapy concerning consciousness and the human psyche in health and disease. Among the sources of this challenging information have been various forms of powerful experiential psychotherapy (such as primal therapy, rebirthing, and holotropic breathwork), clinical and laboratory research with psychedelics, field anthropology, thanatology, parapsychology, and work with individuals undergoing psychospiritual crises ("spiritual emergencies"). Presenter Bio: Stan is a psychiatrist with more than forty years of experience in research of non ordinary states of consciousness. He is one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology and the founding president of the International Transpersonal Association. Spiritual Healing
as a Transformation of Consciousness

Although people come to a spiritual healer for help in terminating pain or illness, they also receive a direct experience of consciousness transformation. Spiritual energy is inherently intelligent, clarifying perceptions and dissolving blocks in the flow of life energy throughout the body. Participants experience pulsating heat and vibrations, the palpable bursting-open of their heart chakra, and spontaneous release of physical and emotional pain. Unveiling the Hidden Order Within Human Consciousness
